I use IO DATA GV-VCP3/PCI quality is fair. Price around 55$ -*-. Low profile? yes… but no driver for Win7 64 bit. And cannot 720×480 in windows -*-. I must use linux.

Very long command. I put it to shell script. You can change

vcodec=mp2v,vb=1000
vcodec can be x264. vb = bitrate (kbit/sec)
acodec (mp3 wont work) mpga mp4a is ok
ab = 96 128 ok (audio bitrate) 
:v4l2-caching=10000 = buffer at VLC. 300+ is ok

OK. I am working with Dhammakaya Temple. They have 1 Buddhist TV channel. Broadcasting in brand of DMC.TV. But I live in Japan. Around Ebina-shi Kanagawa prefecture. As volunteer of temple’s branch. I know Linux and basic computer.

WiFi are growing. If you have money, you can use wiki anywhere.
But better than wifi is 3G unlimited usage for computer *0*.

Some area (city) cannot use satellite disc. Because of building. Then IPTV will be best answer -*-

my story begins.

I googled many free IPTV solution but… nothing. I found ezhometech. It cheap and you can MSN with owner *0*. He is Robert Kao. I bought ezytbox1 one box(200$ + 65$ shipping cost) and downloaded ezserver and tested it.

I’ve found 1 bug about DHCP -*-. This box already known DHCP but not active at boot time. Then I try many thing and put 0.0.0.0 to its IP and reboot. Then box is bricked -*- in same day of my first use.

Robert sent me 1 serial console cable. Its cost = 5$. Then I can unbrick and make box work again

TIPS #1. If you are first with ezytbox, pay more 5$ for serial console cable.

You can access as root with serial console. But ezytboxII you can telnet to its IP. no login required. I asked Robert about compiling STB225 (MIPS cpu). You can do it but you need to sign with NXP. (I also found some point in boot script. it really load special kernel ofter boot. Buy SDK will make life easily)

OK Quality of Video depend on these

1. Encoder. ezserver just receive and send. VLC can encode but need fine tune -*- I found MPEG2 is OK with acceptable quality.
2. CPU Power. to encode 320×240 video real time. You may need quad-core.
3. Robert said. ezserver need memory much(Depend on how much audience). But I think 2G is ok.
4. Video Capture Card.
